Director and dance teacher
My ballet training started as a child at the Ballettschule filina in Luzern and Zug, Dance Art Studio Ballettschule Luzern, and additional scolarship ballet classes in Zürich. My decision to become a professional ballet and modern teacher took me to London to the College of the Royal Academy of Dance and I graduated as a Licenciate of the RAD in 1991.
From there I went to Greece, where I taught children, young adults and professional students. I have been teaching and entering students for RAD examinations since then.
I continued with professional education with the RAD and I graduated with a B.Phil (Hons) in ballet and contextual studies from the University of Durham.
Back in Switzerland I took the position of head teacher of Dance Art Studio, Ballettschule Luzern, where I held this position over 10 years, and continued to teach and coach students until 2017, being responsible for all the RAD Graded and Vocational examinations of the RAD and I.S.T.D. examinations. Since 2007 I have been teaching ballet lessons at International School of Zug and Luzern in Baar. In 2020 I moved the school to a new location: Mühlegasse 18, 6340 Baar.
My work experience covers a wide range of choreography for ballet schools, fashion shows, theater and televison productions, many of which have been made in collaboration with professional musicians. I am a tutor of the RAD teacher program for their certificate in ballet and teaching studies (CBTS).
Many of my students have been doing dance for pleasure and some have also continued into professional career as dancers, teachers or notators of dance. My aim is to provide a solid and safe dance foundation that can be further developed. I achieve this through discipline, musicality, creativity and building a love of dance.
My family (husband and three children) support me in my profession and this makes the pleasure of teaching dance even greater.
